As friends, colleagues and clients draw me more and more into helping businesses in different areas, one thing they repeatedly tell me that distinguishes me is that I am always focussed on getting things done, not just analysing, assessing and making recommendations.
At this point I could leap into lots of poly-syllabic consultant-speak, but I prefer Yoda.
“Try not. Do or do not. There is no try”
You don’t have to be a Star Wars nerd to know this one or to appreciate it.
One of the great positives of running a business is that you can make sure you lead from start to finish and so make sure the “Do” is taken through to the very end.
Consultants and Advisors are sometimes in a position to lead and to the end, but more often not. The best ones though never lose sight of the need for their client to reach their goals and not accept “Try”, only “Do”.
