The REAL best job in the world

by Tom McCallum on April 21, 2010

Ok, we have a winner……………..the lady who stretches my joints into a modicum of flexibility, Kate Dunne of Flow – Therapeutic Movement in Cayman (no, she doesn’t have a website, all word of mouth).

Kate lives in a gorgeous orchard at the end of which is her studio.

Every Wednesday evening I go for a stretching class, and tonight as  I walked in, she was playfully showing us her latest thing, yoga anti-gravity slings.

As Kate hung upside down, playing around showing us different poses, grinning and energetic as a teenage girl, it occurred to me….. boy, she really is passionate about her job.

(As you can see, this isn’t a picture of her studio.. I forgot my camera… shame, it would have been a priceless shot!)

I’m not suggesting that you quit your job and go hang upside down…but if you don’t love what you do as much as Kate does, think about what you DO want to do with the rest of your career.

A very solid philosophy and one that more should try to follow – sadly it often takes us too long to realize what enriches our lives and brings real contentment.
Personally Kate’s job would probably put my aging bones in a wheelchair but I get to spend my work day and my down time surrounded by beauty which is a wonderful tonic.

As the line in a favorite song of mine says – “The only difference in the rich and the poor is a satisfied mind”

The beginning says it all .. but an amazing talk over all.
