Yesterday in Cayman I heard this phrase, the speaker expressing concerns that a creative idea that is being actively “sold” may not be backed up in the “real world” by the product offering.
Just a couple of minutes ago, I was replying to a comment on my last post by Steve McIntosh of CML, a friend, fellow member of the Cayman Angel Investor Network, and one of Cayman’s brightest and best young business leaders.
As I finished typing that comment reply, in came the mail, with a blue gift wrapped box and a card. I opened the card, which matched the box, along with a picture of a Christmas tree decoration (with CML logo). The message inside began

“The perfect package is hard to find when you simply want the best ; so that’s where CML comes in, just ask us, we’ll do the rest!”. Inside the box was a hand blown Christmas tree decoration, with the finishing touch being that it was hand blown in Cayman by Island Glassblowing Studio.
Steve’s business is all about service delivery, and the level of thought, detail and execution (as well as timing !) of this Christmas gift is a lesson in “deliverability” for us all. Kudos to Steve and CML.. free plug well deserved !

Thanks Tom, but the kind words are misdirected. The credit belongs to my wonderfully creative and effective staff!
Best of the season to you!
